Hi!
I have an access 2000 db. I only want it to be read only, so using ACL in nt I have basically limited the "Everyone" group to 'Read' and 'Read & Execute' only. This does not work though, I get a 500 internal server error. I know this is the problem because when I give full control, anonymous web users can use the asp page no problem. So my question is there specific arguments I need to use to set it as read-only or something when I open my recordset??

I have tried using some of the following to no success:

<%
'*****CONNECTION STRING*****
Dim objConn
Dim strConnection

Set objConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
strConn ection = "DSN=stlwebdb;Database=databases/stlweb_db;"
strConnection = strConnection & "UID=;PWD=password;"
objConn.Open strConnection
%>

<%
'* ****RECORDSET W/ ARGUMENTS*****
Set objRS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
Set objRS.ActiveConnection = objConn

'Have no clue if the following three are correct, I rarely use arguments in my code. =)
objRS.CursorLocation = adUseClient
objRS.CursorType = adOpenForwardOnly
objRS.LockType = adLockReadOnly
Query1 = "SELECT * FROM Employees ORDER BY last_name"
objRS.Open Query1
%>

Thanks!
-Nerus
