Default reg/unreg when to do

Let's say I make a COM object and register it on the server and my website is using it just fine for 2 weeks. Then I need to make a change. Before I copy over the dll file from my local machine, must I first unregister it, do the netstop thing, copy it over, then re-register it? Or can I just copy the DLL over?

The easiest thing to do is:
1. open up COM manager.
2. delete the object from the COM manager (the balls)
3. stop, refresh, and start COM application that your components are under.
4. copy over your dll, and re-register it.

so yes, you need to do what you said above. you have to re-register the dll
