tried it and it doesnt work for me

I did

Adodc1("myfield") and I got an error saying "Object doesnt support method or property"

so i guess the moral is ... "BWAH has no idea how to use recordsets in VB and needs a lil' help"
using the ADODC (Microsoft ADO Data Control) component .... went you insert one into your form it creates the ADODC1 component on your form.

I dont even know how to create my own recordset name (im very n00b with VB) ... I think I am supposed to do Private rs as adodb.recordset ... i dont know .... the only way I have been able to access a DB in VB is to use the ADODC component ... im sure there is another way and I am doing it wrong.
Dim abc as new adodb.Recordset
Dim def as new adodb.Connection
dim sSQL as string

sSql = "Select * from TableName"

def.open = "....."
abc.open sSQL, def, 3

make sure you refrence the ado object.

Jeez have you ever TRIED to go through MSDN and figure out how you can get data from a db in VB??
