Default lame-o question

D'ya think I'd see a considerable reduction in database access speed if I were using an ASP on a server in Florida to remotely connect (ADO, of course) to a SQL Server database server on the opposite side of the country w/ a totally different ISP?

I only ask because I've never tried it, logically, you'd think it'd be a bit slower (and of course, less reliable) because the SQL Server would be on a different network altogether than the web server.

Yes, it would be slower and dependant upon the mutliple hops between servers. Couldn't be such a good idea, I would've thought.
