Hi -

I have to get the logon name from users and i'm doing it using the server variable:

Request.Servervariables ("Logon_User")

This is what the asp is doing.. I have a table in an Access db that lists all users with their logon. The db compares and if user is in there, Displays what it needs to, if user not in db, gives them a page saying they don't have authority:

sqlstr1 = "SELECT * FROM EmailAddresses where login = '" & Request.Servervariables ("Logon_User") & "'"
Set rsUser = Logon.Execute(sqlstr1)
If Err.Number <> 0 Then
response.write "Couldn't exec SQL query"
response.end
End If

Session("FirstName") = rsUser("FirstName")
Session("LastName") = rsUser("LastName")
Session("Email") = rsUser("Email")
Session("Phone") = rsuser("Phone")... (and the code goes on)

Now the weird part is I think when you first call up the page, it's not getting the server variable b/c i'm getting an BOF or EOF error. When I call up an asp that I use to test that just has this server variable, it calls up the logon name successfully. Then I go back to my browser with the initial asp and reload it... It then finds (or doesn't find) the user in the table... Anyone know why it won't get the server variable on the initial asp on the first run? Thanks so much!
