    Default Word filter in vbscript?

I am currently writing a message board system for a family friendly web site, so I need to filter HTML tags and cuss words from incoming messages. How do I get VBScript to detect certain combinations of characters in form data? For instance, to stop HTML tags, I could get it to look for "wildcard < wildcard > wildcard" and refuse the post if it finds it. But how do I express this combination of known and unknown characters in VBScript? Or is there another way of doing this? Any help would be much appreciated.

I would use a regular expression for this. <BR><BR><BR>In fact...Here is an FAQ on this very topic.<BR><BR>http://www.aspfaqs.com/aspfaqs/ShowFAQ.asp?FAQID=155<BR>
