Default Too many fields defined?!

    Hi All-

I received the error: &#039 8007000e&#039
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Too many fields defined.

I&#039m oppening a access97 db connection using dsnless connection. The db Recordset (Rs) contains 140 fields and the form which i want to use contains 140 fields to update the database.

I read the relevant MS article

It states the max number of fields the cursor can handle with a disconnected Rs is 255. Does that mean the db Rs and the hmtl form fields are added to together (140 + 140) thereby exceeding the limit? It says the possible resolutions would be to reduce the number of fields or using a server-side cursor
What workaround would be best?

1. could i create 2 Sql update statements and make two separate connections (seems shoddy) to update?

2. use a server side cursor? that might take an explanation ...i&#039m familiar with the cursor types

Thanks!!!
Sorry about my verbosity!

Bart N.
