I'm not exactly sure, but I believe there are color differences between the two browsers. IE recognizes colors by some "names" that aren't identifiable through Netscape, so you're best using the hexidecimal code for colors. Also, If I were developing for many browsers, I would stick with the limited browser safe colors.<BR><BR>They might not be that fancy, but what are you trying to achive? "Wow-visual effect" or "functionality"?
The Netscape color palette (A.K.A. the browser safe palette) is a suggested palette consisting of 216 colors that will display without dithering in both IE and Netscape on computers set to display in only 256 colors. <BR><BR>On higher color systems it's not an issue.
