## \$ operator?

I know that there is \$ operator in Foxpro. Is there \$ operator in sql and asp?

I want to do a sql so that it can get the records of certain status. The status can be one type or many. I hope to do it in a single sql if possible.

## RE: \$ operator?

no, but tell us a little more about what you wish to accomplish. It doesn't sound like too tough of a task.

And what does the \$ do in FoxPro?

## RE: \$ operator?

Thanks for offering to help. I have solved the problem... Through the longer way... :)

Sql can only check for a field equals to 1 value right or we can do like [STATUS] = '01' OR [STATUS] = '02')?

With the \$ operator, we can check if the field is equal to more than 1 values without the OR.

Hope that is clear. :) I'm very bad in explaining

## RE: \$ operator?

(T-)SQL has many options to select fields:
Operators:

= (Equals)
> (Greater Than)
< (Less Than)
>= (Greater Than or Equal To)
<= (Less Than or Equal To)
<> (Not Equal To)
!= (Not Equal To) (not SQL-92 standard)
!< (Not Less Than) (not SQL-92 standard)
!> (Not Greater Than) (not SQL-92 standard)

Logical operators:

'ALL' TRUE if all of a set of comparisons are TRUE.
'AND' TRUE if both Boolean expressions are TRUE.
'ANY' TRUE if any one of a set of comparisons are TRUE.
'BETWEEN' TRUE if the operand is within a range.
'EXISTS' TRUE if a subquery contains any rows.
'IN' TRUE if the operand is equal to one of a list of expressions.
'LIKE' TRUE if the operand matches a pattern.
'NOT' Reverses the value of any other Boolean operator.
'OR' TRUE if either Boolean expression is TRUE.
'SOME' TRUE if some of a set of comparisons are TRUE.

And more including bitwise and unary, just look into the Transact SQL docs.

Peter
