Does the datatype decimal(3,2) or numeric(3,2) treat the data stored in the field using those datatypes as text strings, and if so, how can they be parsed out as numerical data -- much like the date fields being treated as text strings. This may be at the heart of my "Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d' --Type Mismatch Error."

The error occurs on this line:

If RS2("PROBABILITY")=RS("PROBABILITY") Then

The RS("PROBABILITY") is the main table pulling data in an SQL statement from the subordinate table RS2("PROBABILITY") which uses a datatype of numeric(3,2). Because of some type mismatch, that occurred for some reason, this condition cannot be tested. What could be the possible causes? Any ideas?
