Default
- Display attribute

    I'm trying to show and hide a DIV layer using the display attribute (here's the exact coding ..
<div id="layer1" style="display:none; position:absolute; width:249px; height:92px; z-index:1; left: 268px; top: 185px">
)
with display set to 'none' it's not showing up in the beginning but when I try to show up with display set to "" it's not showing up either,i guess it has to do something with that absolute positioning and zIndex attribute
Can anyone please help me with this problem
This is the exact code I'm using in my Javascript

layer1.style.zIndex = 1
layer1.style.display = ""
and do I've to use zOrder instead of zIndex to change the stack order
In my case it's not giving any error but the layer is showing up beneath the current layer I guess
Thanks.

Did you try using visibility:hidden/visible instead of display?
