Default Simulated Auto Increment With ASP

I need to create an Auto Increment number in Access but the problem is that it has to be in the format of 1 character followed by a 6 digit auto incrementing number. For example: the first record would be Y000001 followed by Y000002 and then Y000003, etc. Any ideas on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. I tought about getting the last inserted primary key auto increment number and somehow addign the Y00000 to it. Then using a series of if Then/else if statements and the LEN() function to count the amount of characters returned from the Primary Key auto increment number recordset to accomplish the insert of the "CUSTOM" auto Increment but I really have no IDEA how to accomplish this with code. Once again.... any help with this would be greatly appreciated.<BR><BR>Thank you.

I must apologize for being a complete beginner on ASP but I am lost here. Perhaps a bit of code would help.<BR><BR>Thank you
