I am trying to edit the rows of a table of a SQL Server database using Query Analyzer. Microsoft explain how to insert a row as follows:

"From either Object Browser or the Object Search dialog box, right-click the table that contains the data to be updated and select Open from the Context Menu.

To insert a row

Right-click in the Open Table window and select Add from the Context Menu.
An empty row is inserted at the bottom of the window."

My problem is that the table is opened as read-only and so Add is greyed out. I'm sure I have the correct permissions for this, but do I have to run a query first to set the options that I can write to the table ?

Thanks,

Hal.
