    Default Alter table syntax

    This is not SQL server forum. But I higly depend on this forum when I need immediate response. <BR>I have to change one column&#039;s data type from integer to <BR>float. It should be in &#039;00:00&#039; format. Data already exists <BR>in the table. Can some one tell me the syntaxt for this?<BR><BR>Thanks<BR>Sid<BR><BR><BR>

    Default Try this

    ALTER TABLE tablename<BR>{ALTER COLUMN columnname<BR> {float(2)}<BR>}<BR><BR>See if this works, I&#039;m not sure about the semi-colon you have in there.<BR>

    Thanks for the reply. can I use the syntax like below?<BR>Alter table Table1 Alter column hours float(2,2)<BR>which is correct? Is Float(2) or Float(2,2) for 00:00 format.<BR><BR>Please advice<BR>Sid
