I have an application where the user fills out a form and sends it in. After the submit button is entered the user is taken to a page where I will show them the form contents and give them a chance to make any changes. What I need to do is show an alpha numeric order number where the numeric portion is sequential. I would use id to get the numeric part and then attach the alpha string to it later on. Here is the code.

objRS.Open strSQL, objConn, adOpenStatic, adLockOptimistic
objRS.MoveLast
controlNum = objRS("id")
ControlNum = controlNum + 1

By using objRS.MoveLast will that guarantee that I am always getting the last record so that I dont have duplicates?
