Default beginner question on global.asa

    trying to learn how use global.asa with the timeout function. Must be doing something wrong because after waiting longer than timeout period I can still run queries against database.

FYI all my query pages are password protected - through cookies.

global.asa -

<script language=vbscript runat=server>
SUB Application_OnStart
Session.Timeout = 10
END SUB
SUB Application_OnEnd
END SUB
SUB Session_OnStart
END SUB
SUB Session_OnEnd
END SUB
</script>
Default If you want it fixed

    set it in the project properties of your IIS. Otherwise try it in your session onstart event. I have nevcer done that so i am not sure if it will work.

dumb mistake on my part. Although...when correcting the global.asa file to this below it still does not timeout at 10 minutes.

<script language=vbscript runat=server>
SUB Application_OnStart
END SUB
SUB Application_OnEnd
END SUB
SUB Session_OnStart
Session.Timeout = 10
END SUB
SUB Session_OnEnd
END SUB
</script>
