Default Global.asa

I have a virtual directory under a root which points to a seperate section of the website. To enter this section I have visitors enter their login and password.
eg. my main site :
sub site : : enter login and pwd

Will creating a seperate global.asa for this subsite work?
I want to add some features in the global.asa to exclusively cater to requirements of this sub site and these requirements have nothing to do with the main site.

Could someone please give us an idea of what implications would there be in placing a global.asa file in a virtual directory.
