    Default enctype problem in form

I've got a form with basic fields and then an additional field where someone can browse for a file to upload. The form has the encytype="multi-part/formdata" attribute and when I do not try to upload a file, none of the field values are posted to the next page. However, when I use get in the form method, they do go through the querystring. When I take out the multi-part attribute, it posts fine. So basically, my form will not work if someone does not include a file to upload. Has anyone else had problems like this and how did you get around it? I hate to break up my form into 2 pages if I don't have to. Thanks.
