Default ASP Built in Objects

I'm a bit confused about ASP's built in Objects. For e.g is it right to think of an ASP built-in object such as Response object a PREDEFINED class and that when we write Response.Write("xyz") we are calling a class method of the Response object?

Or is the Response Object actually a predefined Instance of the Response class??

Any Help would be appreciated ..cheers

    Default why?

In OOP an Object is and instance of a class, so why would it be different under ASP, but why does it matter?
