    Default #ing returned records

Does anyone know how to number each of the returned records from a query? I would like to add a column to my query that numbers each returned record beginning with 1. I think this would be an SQL function rather than ASP. This is probably a no-brainer. Thanks Tye

i think you have to do this in ASP.<BR><BR><BR>just have a counter as you loop through the recordset.<BR><BR>

    Default Trivial in ASP...

&#060;%<BR>count = 0<BR>Do Until RS.EOF<BR>&nbsp; &nbsp; count = count + 1<BR>&nbsp; &nbsp; ...<BR>&nbsp; &nbsp; RS.MoveNext<BR>Loop<BR>%&#062;<BR><BR>Doable in *some* versions of SQL, but not in Access that I know of. Dunno about SQL Server. (Moderately easy with DB2, if I remember correctly.)<BR><BR>
