Default Handling errors when updating records ADO/ASP

I'm trying to handle errors on an asp page that is supposed to insert or update records into an sql database with ADO.

I have followed the article of 4guysfromrolla about handling errors but the 'on error resume next' simply don't work.

When I receive any kind of error (string too long, bad format of date, string into numeric) I keep receiving an error message and the application stops without resuming.

I've read somewhere that 'on error resume next' does not work when updating or inserting... so, does anyone knows what can I do for handling these kind of errors when updating or inserting new rows with ado?

Thanks

    Default Post your code...

...I use on error resume next as part of my error trapping all the time.

    Default RE: Post your code...

I use it as well, but when I try to insert or update with ado and the data to be inserted into the database does not fit with the column definition (length per example) the aplication stops and shows the parser error code for that... even if I have used on error move next.

Thanks anyway
