    Default ado and oracle sequence.

    please correct me if i&#039;m wrong. <BR><BR>but the proper way to use the oracle sequence with ado is like this <BR> "select * from table", 3,3<BR>rs.addnew<BR>rs("primarykey")=[sequencaname.nextval]<BR>rs.update<BR><BR>is that correct?

    3 is for a status cursor. If you want to use addnew you have to use either 0 or 2 as in Dynamic or keyset.<BR>

    Default No probelm using 3 static cursor for Insert ...

    but how can ADO know where to fetch the sequence.<BR>Doing it the standard way:<BR>Set rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")<BR>sSQL = "Select SEQUENCENAME.NEXTVAL From Dual"<BR>rs.Open sSQL, conn<BR>seq = rs(0)
