I have tried to use data shaping as described in the recent Scott Mitchell article. I could not get it to work. I then took his examples and copied them to my script, and just changed the column and table names to match mine. I still get the same "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server (0x80040E14)<BR>Syntax error or access violation", which shows as "SQL42000" in query analyzer. I am pretty sure the syntax is good since it is exactly that from the article. Do I need to do anything on SQL Server (we're running 2000) to enable this feature? I also thought I might need a server side cursor. I also tried to put it in a stored procedure, and I noticed that SHAPE and APPEND do not highlight as key words. Any advice would be appreciated.
