Default ADO compatible with '1-JUN-01' dateforma

    Hi,

I'd like to use a standardized date-format for accessing my Oracle and SQL-Server databases using ADO.
Typically this is done with the 'dd-mmm-yy' dateformat, which is commonly understood and avoids internationalization issues like dd-mm vs mm-dd confusion.

However, when I do a FIND operation on a RecordSet (ADO) the 'dd-mmm-yy' format is not accepted:

ASP Error occurred 7-6-2001 9:58:45 in Provider
Error number: -2147352571 (0x80020005)
Type mismatch.

Doesn't ADO understand dateformats like '01-JUN-01' ?
I use ADO 2.6 on Windows 2000 sp2.
I can't find the answer in my documentation (Wrox).

Thanks,
Bas.

Use the formatdatetime function to convert it to an acceptable ADO standard, i.e. :

formatdatetime("1-Jun-01",2)

will become 01/06/01

MikeD
