Default SQL Server 2000 Performance

    Hi-

I'm about to start using SQL Server 2000 on a Windows 2000 Server machine. The machine has 256 megs of ram running on a Pentium III 633 machine.

For atleast a short time, the server load shouldn't be very heavy at all. I would say at most 1000 hits a day. Eventually this number will drastically increase, but I'll worry about that when the day comes.

Will my current machine run with usable performance? Should I add more RAM? Better Processor? Both? Money is a consideration!

Nick
