Default ASP & Event Viewer: Difficult Problem

I need to have access to Event Viewers active log through VB or ASP and be able to make it web based. For example, if an administrator's at home he/she would need to view event logs for remote computers over the web. I don't know if this is even possible. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

    (pumping up chest pompously)

"Not too difficult for *some* of us..." :)

I've done a bit of digging...

The event files seem to be stored as AppEvent.Evt, IExplore.evt, SecEvent.Evt and SysEvent.Evt in the X:Winntsystem32config directory... Whether these are updated instantaneously or not is open to debate, although I would think they are.

You could access these files using a Scripting.FileSystemObject and read in their content...

The structure of the file is strange (not as you would expect), but I could open it in notepad, so I guess you could parse it.

But that's up to you I'm afraid :)

Craig.
