Default ConnStr in Session Variable

Can anyone tell me if it is reasonable practice to store a whole connection string in a session variable instead of just the username and password? I'm thinking of creating the ConnStr when a successful login occurs and storing it in a session variable so I can use it anywhere within the app and handle security issues as well. Any takers?

    I don't see why not...

Many people use Application variables to hold connection strings. True, it means that it'll be replicated for each authenticated user on your application, but if it's part of your security then it's valid.

Craig.
