Default Null Values in Access Table

    I am having trouble checking whether or not there is a value in an Access field. I get no errors, but I am using an if statement and the condition is not being met when it should be.

dim theDate
theDate = rsObject("EventDate")
If Trim(theDate) = "" Then
.....statements
else
.....statements
end if

The fields that have no EventDate are passing through to the else condition. Any suggestions would be appreicated.
Perhaps check if Len(Trim(MyVar)) = 0 instead...

Best regards,
-Paul

J. Paul Schmidt, MBA
Databases on the Web
