Default ADO updating procedure

I have an ASP page that executed methods on a vb dll. The vb dll calls a MSQL stored proc using ado. The stored procedure is developed to update a table in the database. If I comment out the update, everthing works ok. However if the update is not comemnted out, my asp page fails, but looking at the database the updates actually succeeded. Is there a cursor type or command type for ado that I should or shouldn't be using for this scenario?

Thanks

Mike Johnson
