I appologize again for posting a client-side JavaScript question, but I have yet to find a good JavaScript message board (and it is an ASP chat room I am building).

Is there an event handler that gets called when a user moves the scrollbar?
Basically, my chat room refreshes every six seconds with new text being put at the top (in an application variable). I would like it so that if the user scrolls down to look at older text the scrollbar doesn't jump back up to the top of the window. I have yet to find a solution for the next (& I'm beginning to think there isn't one).
