Default SQL Memo Fields??

I am trying to find the equivelant of an Access memo field in SQL. I have tried the NVARCHAR type with 4000 characters max but when I insert a string above 4000 characters it gives me an error about not being able to truncate the data.

Is there such a thing in SQL whereby the size of the string which you can put into the field is unlimited in size?

Scrap the 'n' prefix anything unless you need Unicode stuff. 'varchar' can go up to 8000. 'text' is the one you're looking for however. This will allow I believe 2 billion characters or some extremely large amount.
