A PRIVATE sub can only be accessed by other functions within the component and can not be called directly from an ASP page.

Nick has explained a Private Sub excellently. <BR><BR>When used within an ASP page, Private and Public Subs do not seem to be much different. But they ARE different. They will make a difference if you use Classes. The Private Subs / Functions within the class will not be visible outside the class, whereas the Public ones will be visible.
