## Impossible question...

...without knowing the COMPLETE rate table!

And VERY different rate tables, depending upon how you ship!

5 pounds overnight via FedEx? Or 5 pounds ground via UPS? Or 5 pounds book-rate via US Post Office?

*IF* you limit yourself to UPS, for example, they have a way to link from their calculators on their pages to your own pages. If you go to the UPS site, you can get started. It is pretty complicated, but it is possible.

But now suppose your user insists on Emery Air Freight???

## RE: Impossible question...

Bill,
You are right but I like to make my life easier by Using only UPS ground and USPS mail(generic option).

So what I want to do is build some reasonable logic based on the price of the product and then I can select UPS or USPS based on my req. Customer will not have option to select. I will decide whether it make sense to ship via UPS or USPS after customer buys something.

Real question is what is the practical logic so I do not loose money in 95-99% of case and my customer do not get too much charged either..We are in toys business.

Here what I think and any Idea will be greately appreciated:
No matter what min. charge will be \$3.00 + 1.50/per Item and depend on how many item you add 1.50 will be added.

I will check at the same time shipping cost is 6% of the total cost per Item. If 6% is higher than the above 1.50 than I will add 6% of the product cost not the 1.50...I have tried and it seems to work close but I like to have more Idea from you guys so I can make sure I am more accurate in counting on Qty and price based shipping since I do not want to count weight and dimention of every product we carry

Thanks
MAMIN
## If UPS and USPS only...

...then I *think* you can link to their sites to get the calculations done for you. I know you can do this with UPS. It's not trivial, but it's not impossible, either.
