Hello everyone,

I have a SQL server serving a moderate sized web site which avergaes 500,000 page impression a month. I've set up the 500-100.asp common asp error page to email me whenever an error occurs on the site. Recently and especially during busy times alot of SQL connection errors are occuring. Namely:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]ConnectionWrite (WriteFile()).

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]ConnectionRead (ReadFile()).

And other times just (0x80004005) Unspecified error...

The database connection string is DSN less. The server is set up to accept TCP/IP and named pipes for connections.

The next little 'feature' the server has developed is also for IIS to shutdown and restart at random. It seems to me that the friggin server needs a good reinstalling. This is definitely not something that I would like to do since their are many services that would have to be reinstalled etc...

The server runs win2k Server w/ SP1.

If anyone could shed some light on this dillema, it would be very very very much appreciated!
