A few days ago, someone suggested that I should use server.transfer to avoid the problem that spiders don't follow redirect asp links.

I installed IIS5 in Win2000 yesterday and created an ASP page in my application that 'server.transfer' to another ASP page that uses some application variables defined in the global asa file.
What I found was that server.transfer skip my global.asa file because the page that I transfer to is getting errors on missing variables.

Now, response.redirect do not have this global.asa problem but it does not get followed by search engines.

Is there anything I'm missing when using server.transfer?
