How do I make my web application produce a beep noise on demand (under IE 5.0)? For example, the user types a character, e.g. "a", in a numeric field, I want the keydown (or keyup) event to produce a beep noise. Tried on a simple Windows .wav file for a beep (got the wav file from WinNT) and am using the object.run method to produce the beep. Works fine on my PC, but it does not on my customers' PCs (we all have IE 5.0). The error they get is object does not support this property or method (i.e. Run). Since I can't get this to work, I thought there might be a simpler way to produce a beep (heck Basic was doing this over 20 years ago with a simple command, BEEP)!!!

Thanks.
