## RE: Calculating Easter???

Easter falls on the sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox.

Whitsun is on the sevent sunday after easter.

So it is not that easy to calculate. Maybe you can hardwire it?

## RE: Calculating Easter???

It is not easy to calculate Easter, but have a look at this site which has info on how to do it, and also has BASIC program code for calculating when it falls.

http://www.assa.org.au/edm.html

## Interesting!

My daughter asked me last night why Easter was never the same date. Although I think this explanation would confuse her. Neat to know though.

## And technically...

...that means Easter *can* come on the day after the start of Spring. Becuz the Vernal Equinox can happen at (say) 07:00 in the morning and the full moon could happen at (say) 19:00 in the evening.

Having said this...I'm not sure it's true. Since Easter is, after all, derived from Passover and since I doubt that the ancient Hebrews calculated the beginning of Spring to the very hour (more likely, just to the date). And ditto w/ regard to the full moon. So... Is it or is it not possible for Easter to fall on the day after the Vernal Equinox????

One fun trivia question you can get out of this, at least: What is the *latest* date that Easter can fall on???
