Default dealing with missing values

    *
Is there any way to deal with missing values in a table when using a select statement. I'm trying to return some data from a database using an SQL statement, which works fine but bombs out when it hits a record with a missing value in the where field with the following message

ADODB.Field error '80020009'

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted; the operation requested by the application requires a current record.

?

any ideas

cheers Keith

You can test for this contingency not to arise

set RS = connect.execuet("select x from t where c = 12")
if RS.eof then
'no data satisfied the search criteria
else
'handle data as intended
end if

or if trying to write a multitude of records

set RS = connect.execuet("select x from t where c = 12")
while not RS.eof
response.write rs("x")
rs.movenext
wend
