    Default ASP/SQL statement

    Can some one please provide me with the correct syntax for a LIKE statement in SQL. I want to be able to select name and email from the table where the first letter in col "name" = "b"<BR><BR>thanx

    SELECT * FROM TableName<BR>WHERE Name LIKE &#039b%&#039<BR><BR>The % is the wildcard character in SQL, so you are saying, return all columns from the table TableName where the column name starts with a &#039b&#039.<BR><BR>If you are needing some SQL syntax help, here is an article on general SQL syntax.<BR>http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/faq/Databases/faq3.shtml<BR><BR>You can also check out SQL&#039s books on-line.
