if rs("border-type") = 02 then
rs("border-type")=Merror
End If
Response.Write rs("border-type")

I tried to display and I got this error:

ADODB.Fields error '800a0cc1'

ADO could not find the object in the collection corresponding to the name or ordinal reference requested by the application.
you are not selecting border-type from the table OR the name is different from border-type?? chek your select and tabe structure

you still have to SHOW MORE CODE...please post the RELAVENT code
The names are all correct.. when I say <%=rs("border-type")%>
it works fine. But when I do the if statement it fails..
I even tried to give it a variable but still not work.
What's wrong with it??

Dim var
var=rs("border-type")
if var1=02 then
var=Merrow
Response.Write var
End If
Not sure what you are trying to do here but I see a couple of things that could be a problem.

What is var1 and what is it's inherant value?

Is Merrow a filedname or a literal? If it is a literal you'll need to enclose it "Merrow".

And just a thought...consider taking the - out of the field name. I have used an _ but never a - that may be a part of the issue here but not sure.
