what cursortype should i use if i want to use the AddNew method(recordset object) i tried using forwardonly(1) and static(3) cursor types but it doesn't work...

thanks all
forward type bcoz it is faster!!!
i used this supports method (recordset object) to determine if my recordset indeed can add new entries, and the result is true.

but still AddNew won't work.. i wonder why
Could you post your code?

Don't forget to use this line after you add the record.

rs.Update
you should include adovbs.in at the top of the page
this should do the trick - just do a 'find on your machine - you should have this file somewhere ...
if it doesnt do the trick then do rs.open strsql,mydsn,3,3
Use dynamic , as other methos of recordset like movePrevious will not work with forward cursors.
Actually try to avoid using ADO Native methods like addNew...u can use sql instead
I had this problem and the solution for me was we were using adodb 2.0 and the vbs constants are not available so I had to use the numeric version of the constant or set the constant in my asp script.
