    Default SQL Server Reponse Time

I have written two different stored procedures. One takes about 4 minutes to run, the other about 5 seconds. If I run the 4 minute procedure and then run the 5 second procedure, the 5 second procedure will wait until the 4 minute is done. They are accessing two seperate tables in the same database. The 4 minute procedure is created temp tables and doing alot of calculations while the 5 second procedure is just displaying a table. I was curious why it is waiting for the 4 minute one to finish before I can get the 5 second one to display.
