Default RE: Virtual Directory

It is not possible to create a virtual directory with a path like x:aspfiles as mapped drives are actually only available to the user who is currently logged into the server - not the processes (including ASP) which are running on that server.

However it is possible to use a UNC name such as \anotherserveraspfiles. The only problem is that you will need to create a domain user account and apply this to the share/file permissions on the share and change the anonymous user account for the virtual directory to that user account.
