Hello - anyone know if it's possible to INSERT an an empty string into a date field in Access?????????????? If so, how? (I'm trying to work out the SQL syntax).

Cheers, bpj
In the Access database, table design, did you set the <<Allow Zero Length>> property to be "YES"?
There is no "Allow Zero Length" option for the Date/Time field.

Ideally, if there was, it would solve my problem. Any other ideas?
Sorry, I must clean my glasses and read the question properly...

Could you set the DEFAULT to be NULL
and UPDATE or INSERT a NULL value into the field

UPDATE Table1 SET Table1.dtmDate = Null;
