Default GIF file from database

    I'm trying to bring in a GIF file from a database and put it on the screen. I keep getting a type mismatch. Can someone tell me how to do this without an error?
My code is:
<%
sql="SELECT Sample FROM Labels WHERE Labels.Format = '"&format&"'"
sql=recSet("Sample")
response.write ""&sql&""
%>

    hi,

you shouldnt store gif's in databases as they incur overhead. Instead, store gifs on disk in a /images folder, and store the path name to the gif in your database.

However, your ASP syntax is wrong. Try:

response.binaryWrite(yourSQLvalue)
