    This is my code<BR>&#060;FORM name="frmxyz" ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" action="xyz.asp"&#062;<BR>&#060;INPUT type="file" size="40" name="txt_file"&#062;<BR>&#060;/FORM&#062;<BR>The filename is stored in a database. How do I populate the &#060;input type="file"&#062; element using ASP? None of the tags of the element tag seem to be working. Please help

    Default Not ASP, not advanced, but what the heck...

    You don&#039;t. It&#039;s a security measure. The browsers will *not* let you pre-specify a filename because you can use JS code to automatically submit a form. If you could *also* automatically pick a file name, you&#039;d be able to upload files off the users&#039; disks to your server without the user even knowing about it.<BR><BR>So it is prohibited.<BR><BR>This info is in *ANY* docs you ever read about the &#060;INPUT TYPE=FILE ...&#062; form field.<BR><BR>
