I don't understand something that my ASP book is saying and I was hoping someone could explain it to me. It says "the easiest way to create a connection object in ASP is the following:

Dim objConn
Set objConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

in the explanation of that statement they say that "the programmatic identifier (or ProgID) for the ADO connection object is ADODB.Connection. So that we can use the object within our code we've given it a name - objConn. What is this programmatic identifier they are talking about? I know how to create a datalink (connection string). Is this what programmatic identifier refers to? Can anyone tell me what they mean by programmatic identifier?
