no -
1 asp runs on the server and just 'writes htmljava'
2 browsers have little access to the rest of your machine - ie htmljava can only affect th4e browser and nothing outside it - obviously for security reasons ...
You might be able to do this with components, but why on earth would you want to do so? Your users would not be able to see it, and your server would be loaded with the extra tasks.

What are you trying to achieve ?
not with asp - the language is a cut down version of vb (or java) which will only give you certain objects that have control over databases - and text - but not the machine in general - the only way i know it would be possible is to write a dll in vb
with one line

x = Shell("c:windows
otepad.exe")
and that will do trick but you have to register the dll on the server which you will have to get the permission of the administrators for .....
