If I have a link to an FTP file on a web page to anonymous access FTP site. i.e:

<A HREF="ftp://www.TheSite.com/TheFile.doc">doc</a>

In IE a box pops ups (sometimes) saying do you want to logon as anonymous or specify a username or password. How do I stop this happening, In netscape (and other IE vers) it just downloads!

I tried this to no avail:
<A HREF="ftp://anonymous:test@www.TheSite.com/TheFile.doc">doc</a>

To effectively force the username anonymous, but it still prompts the user.

Is there anyway of specifying the link or configuring the FTP Server so that this does not happen? I do not require any logging on or security.
