Firstly, thanks to David Moran for answering my last question about null values.

My next question concerns grouping within recordsets.

I have a database of paintings. I want a page showing all the paintings, but grouped by the different artists.

I've been looking up information on loops, but haven't been able to figure it out yet.

Please can someone give me a hint.

Many thanks,

Nick

Ok. You would have a table of artists, each row has a field ArtistID, ArtistName, Comments. Another table Paintings with fields ArtistID, PaintingName, Image.

On your first ASP page, you display the rows from the artist table, each with a link:

<a href="paintings.asp?ArtistID=<%=Rs("ArtistID" )%>"><%=Rs("ArtistName")%>&#06 0;/a>

then you build the second page round the query
"Select * from Paintings where ArtistID=" & Request.QueryString("ArtistID")
